It's A Nice Place

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
I've lived at Acacia for 7 months now and so far I love it.
1. It is VERY quiet here. (especially for a complex of its size) No loud parties or people hanging out. I've seen a security team around at night and they DO approach people if they're not used to seeing them in the complex. I'm always cautious, but I do feel pretty safe here. The parking areas are lighted pretty well, but the lighting on the acutal buildings could be better, especially if your apartment is near a row of garages.
2. The gounds are well kept. Everything is always green with nice trees and parkways.
The recreation areas (pool, gym) are clean, but could be larger to accommodate the number of people who live here. The gym equipment is kind of dated, but I think management is working on getting more updated stuff.
3. The office staff is nice overall. I've noticed that they aren't always as nice to you after you move in as they where when you came in to look at an apartment or sign your lease (greeting you by name, smiles, etc.). They are, however, very willing to work with you on your issues with the apartment.
4. Maintenance takes a while (again, probably because the complex is so big). I had some things that needed to be fixed in my apt and it took a little while for it to happen, but it happened. The maint. guys are cool and they don't do a half-job, either. From my experience, things get done right the first time.
5. Parking is horrible. If you're having company over you might want to park your own car in the vistor parking near you apt (when you can find a space)and let your guest use your garage. There's not enough parking.
Overall, Acacia is a great place to live. Yes, it's kind of on the pricey side(appx. $750 for a 1 bedroom), but I believe you get what you pay for. Since I've lived here I've seen many improvements: new garage doors, new "marquee" signs, the parking lot has been repaved, new landscaping (plants, etc.) I guess what I'm saying that I can see where my rent money is going. I don't feel like I'm paying a lot for a dump. There aren't many places in the area where you can get: a washer and dryer INSIDE your apt, a large patio/balcony (up/down), a garage (yeah, you have to share with your up/down stairs neighbor, but hey...), the sqft if the apts range from average to, maybe even small, compared to others in the area and places I've lived before, but all of the ammenities make up for it.
