We were shown an apartment with a mountain view, fireplace and crown-molding. Looked great!

We were never shown our actual apartment until the day we moved in. Our apartment had a view of a dirt wall, no fireplace, and NO trim on the walls. Later, we noticed our back patio door had marks of a previous break-in (The office claims THEY broke in when previous residents left with the key)... among other things... Maintenance is nice, but I've complained several times about the same things.

Neighbors are very ghetto but usually keep to themselves. With the exception of a little domestic abuse. (many hang out in their garages and watch you drive by)

Office staff is generally pretty rude and they shared our personal credit information with our friend (he used to work for the complex). When we move out, we don't expect our deposit back. Also, it is required to pay for cable TV $30/month. This was not mentioned until we signed the lease. "Gated community" is a joke, as cars pile up and wait for someone with a gate button to get in. 4 months in, we still can't get a fitness center pass, since they don't have any more.

It's ok, but I can't wait to move out.

I know exactly what you mean! I lived there for six months in 2005, and was kicked out at the beginning for 2006 because they were turning my apartment into the model for their condos. It was ridiculous! After all of the hassle I put up with, they kicked me out when I couldn't break my lease when I would have been able to move. I completely agree, these aparments are a joke!
