I just went in today after work to inquire about any available 2 bedroom apartments, because I saw and ad on craigslist. So, I went into the leasing office and the lady was nice and pleasant. She went over what was available and answered my questions up to that point. I was very satisfied with her help until I asked about the total move-in. Once that question was asked...she proceeded to tell me that the move-in would cost TRIPLE THE RENT!!! First of all...I didn't just fall of the turnip truck..this was a bold face lie. No "apartment" complex charges that much. Secondly, they have advertised that it is first month plus a $600 deposit. Also...she heavily...very heavily emphasized that they were going to do a credit check...as if to scare me off from wanting to rent there. I don't want to suggest, imply, or make any type of accusations or why she said what she said, but...I have my theories. For the record..I'm a 28 y/o asian male..young professional. I make pretty good money and my credit is in the good to great range. I would rather think that they are hesitant to rent to the younger crowd...but what she did was still uncalled for and it took every bit of restraint on my part not to tell her off then and there. So..I leave it up to you...but I would be cautious of wanting to rent here...especially if this is how they treat potential renters. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb

Both my husband and I had a credit check when we moved here.
Also, we only paid the $600 deposit. That was it.

The $600 deposit is what I would have paid as well considering my credit score is in the 720 to 740 range depending on bureau. Also, the $600 deposit is also what was on the ad for qualified credit at the time. So, when the manager on duty at the time kept insisting that "the required" deposit is triple the rent, and not the customary 1) first plust deposit or 2) first, last and deposit, I felt very insulted.
