your life will be a living nightmare

It looks decent when you drive in, but ONCE you live here, you find you are living in an overpriced police state where crime still manages to run rampant. A constant bombardment of rules: satellite dish rules that make it impossible to have one, no loud talking after 10pm, parking rules that make it impossible to have a guest over without towing their car within the hour, and the list goes on.
Despite all the crazy, constant reminder of rules, my neighbor's motorcycle was stolen in broad daylight a few days ago, and my own home was broken into more than once. The tow truck towing people's cars all the time makes a LOT more noise after 10pm than anyone talking very loud, and the staff could not be more rude.
If you are one dollar short on your rent, or one day late, eviction proceedings begin, and even if you pay the rent, they'll charge you over $800 in legal fees, and won't know about it until you are served.
This is only the tiny tip of the iceberg of problems you will encounter once you sign the overpriced lease. There is an abandoned apartment complex next door that is filled with black mold, and is used by the local S.W.A.T. for target practice and hostage situation drills (random rifle fire when you least expect it), and it is about to be razed and a new high-rise put in -- meaning we are about to be inundated with constant construction noise, and any view you may have had here of the sliver of ocean that can be seen when it's not foggy will be obscured, and we are about to be overrun by rodents fleeing the old buildings that will be torn down.
If you have pets, beware. They allow them with many restrictions, fines, and fees, but one wrong move, and you're evicted. The owner is a self-professed animal hater, and only allows pets in order to fill the units and get all of your fees and deposits that you will never get back.
Speaking of deposits, if you want your back, get an attorney now. It has been the only way anyone has been able to get a deposit that I know of in the last three years.
A neighbor of mine who was interviewed by the local news media when five men were murdered in the building next to me, commented about some of the conditions here, and was instantly evicted. Many of the things they do here in the way they treat tenants is illegal, but they are counting on the tenant not pursuing it, or having enough money to hire an attorney, so they get away with it.
It is an admirable thing that some people who have posted factual comments that are derogatory about this place, have done so, otherwise, people here live in fear that if they do or say the wrong thing to the wrong person, they will be evicted.
All-in-all, living here, within the next few years at least, will be a nightmare I hope you will never endure. I'm out as soon as my lease is up.
I would like to add that the maintenance guys have been very nice and friendly. It's rare that I see them, because I can't get things fixed, but it's management that is cold, mean and rude... the maintenance guys seem very nice. We've had a huge garbage problem ever since I moved here, but they seem to try to pick it up during the day... the garbage problem is a problem with not having the right number of receptacles, and barriers to each receptacle that make it difficult to get to the back dumpsters, so people just plunk it down anywhere and it attracts families of raccoons. So, you don't want to take the garbage out after dark to the receptacles you cannot see clearly or a raccoon may jump out at you like one did to me when I first moved in. Have you ever seen those long claws!
