I found this place on Craigslist, where they prominently displayed: '$600 deposit!!'. I thought it seemed too good to be true, and it was. When they ran my credit, they told me they had to _double_ the security deposit, to $1200, based on my credit. If my credit is so horrible, how was I able to buy a new car a month ago' Not to mention that my rental history is impeccable - I lived in my previous apartment for 8 years, with a perfect payment history.
Be that as it may, I had already given my notice to my current landlord, so I had no choice but to suck it up and pay the $1200. A day after giving the landlord the second money order, I got a call from them saying they would now need _$1800_ instead.
WTF'!'
Needless to say, I told them to piss off and now am frantically scrambling to find an apartment.
Don't rent at Skycrest unless you like dealing with crooks.
