Best apartment experience thus far.

I've rented four different apartments over the past five years of my life, and this one has been by far the best. On my first day living here, I found that the management had left a cloth grocery bag on my kitchen counter with paper towels, toilet paper, a bunch of candy, and dish liquid for the dishwasher, and I knew I was in a special place. Although I've only lived here three months, I would happily stay indefinitely were I not moving out of town for a new job.
The primary thing that struck me about 600 Front is that the apartments and the complex itself are *clean* -- very impressive for a downtown facility. Everything is well-maintained and in working order, with only minor complaints: the lights in my entrance hallway died early in my stay, and the large burner on my stove periodically stops working. I had called upon maintenance to fix the stove the first time that issue occurred, and they did so promptly while I was at work (I had signed a waiver allowing them access while I was out of the apartment). This particular issue recurs, but to date I haven't taken it upon myself to call in the maintenance staff again. I have no doubt they would promptly respond to future calls.
The office staff is very friendly and cooperative. The main staff member in the office, Olena, has a thick Russian accent and speaks somewhat broken English, but she understands it very well and is very kind. The other staff members that I have seen speak English with no problems. I had to apply for my apartment via fax, arrive at nearly closing time on the move-in date, have the apartment complex accept a package for me before I had even moved in, replace a lost key card, and terminate my lease 9 months early -- all of these situations were handled with full cooperation from the rental office.
The complex is extremely quiet at all hours of the day. The walls are nearly noise-proof, except, peculiarly, in the bathroom, where you can often hear the water running in showers of apartments that don't even neighbor yours. This sound, of course, is extremely quiet and not at all disturbing unless you are very particular about having silence. Also, infrequently at night you may be able to faintly hear people who are chatting in the courtyard. However, the complex doesn't have many people younger than I am (a recent college graduate), and I haven't seen any instances of loud, drunken, or rowdy behavior within the complex to date.
In summary, 600 Front has been an excellent place to live, and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking an apartment in or near downtown San Diego.
(The following section was added after the initial comment was posted:)
With regard to noise, I noticed another poster complained of the noise from trains and fire engines and such, which is true. Unfortunately this is most likely a widespread problem for apartments in or around downtown San Diego. I would say that, relative to other apartments I've been in, this complex has the best sound insulation. I can't hear anything going on in neighboring apartments, and train/fire engine noises are very muffled.
With regard to parking, it's very true that the parking is a little bit inconvenient for large cars. I own a 1995 Toyota Camry, which tends to require at least 3-4 back-ups and readjustments in order to escape its parking space.
