The Good:
Arcadia has the nicest floor-plans and options of any other complex that we've looked at, and it is located in one of the most convenient areas (off I-15, one exit north of Friars Rd. and 2 exits north of the I-8 interchange). The neighborhood is pretty quiet and is for the most part a safe area of San Diego.
Maintenance has been somewhat spotty in the past, but this seems to be resolving with a new maintenance team, and all buildings are being re-painted this summer.
You cannot hear noise between the walls, as these are insulted well. However, you can hear noise through the ceiling, so if this bothers you, choose a 3rd floor unit.
There are more grassed areas, trees, and shrubs than other complexes have, and this is true of the Stonecrest neighborhood as a whole, so a nice place to come home to.

The Not-so-good:
Heating/cooling is not zoned in the 3-bedroom apartments (on 3 floors), so the top floor master suite has to bake, or the main second floor has to be frigid - take your pick. 1 or 2 bdr - not a problem, as these are all on one floor. Not impressed with the Barbie sink in the kitchen, as my pasta pot will not fit, and has to be washed in the bathtub. The garbage disposal is not up to the task of handling anything starchy, like pasta or potato peelings. Also not impressed with the low-quality carpeting, but suppose that if nicer had been used, a previous tenant would have killed it. Almost all units have a garage (attached if you have a 1st floor enterance) but if you have a second car, it can be almost impossible to park on Friday and Saturday evenings, as since these are nights when people have guests. Might have to park outside the complex on the street. Leasing office staff are OK, although you can sometimes get the short treatment when you bother them with maintenance requests.
Pretty pricey for a 6-year old complex.
