whatever you do, don't bother cleaning before you move out. They will charge you $100 regardless of how well you clean. I left my place spotless, but they told me that they have to charge me to have a cleaning crew come in and do regular cleaning for the new tenants. Would have been nice to know this before I spent 3 days scrubbing the damn place.

Oh yeah and add to that $65 to touch up some scuff marks along the baseboards. Isn't this considered normal wear and tear'

Anyways, don't plan on ever seeing your deposite again. Consider it a payment for them doing their job.

I think what they're doing is illegal. I know they did the same to me but all the information I found said that they are not allowed to charge for normal wear and tear. I lived there for 3 months and they charged me for a FULL paint job on the apartment. I left my place spotless, even taking pictures but it didn???t matter. I spoke to someone the day after I left who said that he was pleasantly surprised at how clean the apartment was but NONE of that mattered in the end. I didn???t see ANY of my deposit back, not only that I was also presented with a BILL! I can only assume that they rely on the fact that no one will take them to court over it.
