I'm a travel RN and I resided here for 9 months while on assignment. I have lived in several apartment units and these are without a doubt my favorite so far. They are luxury apartments. The staff and maintenance men were very nice and friendly. I can only think of one incident of being discouraged with the staff regarding the poolside fireplace, but it's a long story. Wasn't a big deal. They have this nice romantic area set-up near poolside with fireplace and patio tables. However none of the residents could use it because they didn't have a simple cheap generic key to turn on the gas. I thought that was stupid and selfish of them. But I got over it when my husband bought his own gas key to turn it on. The trolley was a big bonus, it took you downtown for approx $2.50, and I didn't have a problem with homeless like others say they did. Of course being that I'm a vunerable tender young women I don't go out after dark alone. My husband was usually with me. And what's up with the ants some reviewers reported having problems with, I don't remember seeing any critters. Oh well.

I completely agree! Although I have lived here only since April, it has been a very pleasant experience. I had quite a few service requests when I first move in but they were fixed immediately...I'm with you on this one...Archstone Mission Valley is great!!

If you're a traveling nurse it would be perfect. THe big issue with Archstone is trying to get your security back. They basically told us before ever seeing our apartment that they weren't going to give it back. The woman said that we should just pay the $100 cleaning charge because if we missed ANYTHING on the checklist (that included cleaning underneath and behind the refrigerator)that they'd have to charge us the FULL amount. I'm fairly certain that what they're doing is illegal but that doesn't seem to phase them.
