Don't move here...

I moved here in December and I am moving out already! Someone tried jumping over my patio in an attempt to break into my apartment at 2am one morning while I was sleeping. The office was not understanding about why i wanted to move out and made me pay $1800 just to get out of my contract. My washing machine was broken for about a month and I contacted the office about 4 times to get it fixed. My last major complaint is the noise from the road. Not only do you have to listen to people blowing their horns all day, but you have to listen to stolen cars driving by with their alarms on at 2-3am. If you are thinking about moving here, I would advise you to look somewhere else.

And let me guess, they gave you a bill for around $300 for a full clean of the apartment? I was there for THREE months. I'm a clean freak, don't wear my shoes in the house, hung no pictures, don't smoke... and they told me they had to shampoo the carpets, repaint ALL the walls and do a full clean AFTER I did a thorough cleaning of the apartment. When it came out that I had pictures they said "well we can't tell from the pictures if there's any damage so we'll cut the bill in half". I told them that if you can't see any damage in the pictures it's because there WAS NO DAMAGE. We fought about it for about a month or so and they wound up charging me about $100 because they said I didn't pull out the GAS oven and clean behind it. Yep, they expected me to disturb the gas lines to clean out the dust that had accumulated in THREE months. It's a decent place to live but they are outright crooks. What they're doing is absolutely illegal.

DEAR ANONYMOUS, I just read your posting and I am going through the exact thing. My apartment got broken into and it was NOT a forced entry. Management basically accused me of lying, and I've realized on my own that the things that I was missing happened very slowely without my achknowledgement meaning that someone on the staff had probably made a key and has been going through my apartment. I am working with a lawyer, I refuse to pay a termination fee that goes against my right of Privacy. I would love to speak with you further. Please post a response here.

Is safety truely an issue here? I'm considering moving in here the next couple of weeks and need some advice from residents. I want a safe place. Someone please reply
