I've never written a negative review about an apartment before, but I felt an ethical responsibility to warn others to stay away from this property. Looks good on the surface and they give you a 30 day guarantee but, who wants to go through the expense of moving again within 30 days. I paid $1855 dollars a month for an apartment with patched floors and the guest room closet was unusable because it smell like a dead body had been left to rot. In a period of 7 months my apartment was flooded twice, because the water heaters rusted out on the floor above me. The second time it flooded was during business hours. I reported the flood at 9:15am and they finally came to look at it after I called a second time 8 hours later. I had a hole in the wall and a blower on in my living room for 8 days. I had family visiting from out of town and everyone ended up getting sick. The Archstone violated renters rights. Inspite of all their failings they proposed a $200 rent increase if I signed a new 13 month lease. Worst apartment experience ever!!!!

I hear you there. We were only there fro 32 months. For the most part we enjoyed it. It wasn't until we tried to renew our 3 month lease that we changed our opinion. They wanted to raise our rent over $300 after only being there for 3 months. Thank god we took pictures before we left because they tried to keep ALL of my security AND they gave us a bill for over $300. We were there fro THREE months, I'm a neat freak, take off my shoes when I come in, hung no pictures, non-smokers... Once I let them know that I had pictures, sent them a copy of the fair housing laws and let them know that I had been in contact with fair housing they agreed to give me HALF of my security. It was really my fault though I guess, I forgot to pull the GAS oven from the wall and sweep behind it. They are crooks plain and simple. Before anyone rents there they should do some research.
