We've lived here for one year and are not renewing the lease on our two bedroom because they are raising our rent by almost $200 per month. Although we've been unhappy with some things, overall we would stay if our rent wasn't raised by so much. What we liked: white appliances and cabinets, roommate type floor plan, building structure - more like condos, less like a motel or the dorms - view out our patio of the canyon to the south, pretty good response to maintenance requests - not the quickest we've seen, but not bad - sound insulation in walls must be really good because we never heard either of our side neighbors, and a decent amount of sun on the patio shining into the living room. What we didn't like: mold in our bathroom (at least they responded immediately, provided a hotel room for us, tore out and dehumidified and put back together the whole bathroom, and gave us a rent credit), sound insulation not good from upstairs to downstairs (luckily, our upstairs neighbors were pretty quiet), a sudden increase in our water bill from about $25 per month to $75 per month (management said they had no choice but to start charging us for cold water instead of just hot water), uncovered parking (although no problems with theft or vandalism unless you park on the street), and our unit backs up onto Genessee so we got traffic noise and train noise from the canyon but after just one week we were used to it and it never bothered us. So, it's not all perfect, but if it were more affordable we would stay.

I like archstone but am also moving out early because of the rent increase( my lease ends in the summer I found a comparable for much less and locked in to a longer lease)
The apts at Archstone are nice, a little noise from upstairs but quiet overall.
The facilities are ok but the gym is awful( it is filthy dirty, they have one weight machine) and they do not seem to have a clubhouse.
They raised the water/trash from $25 to $75 and I am moving because I can get better for less.
