Great layout, needs updating, manager annoying

All of the apartments have windows in the front and back of the apartment, this is especially great in the summer because if you put a fan in the front and a fan in the back, you get really good cross breeze that cools your apartment down quickly. Most of the residents are very quiet and pretty considerate.
The complex looks pretty old and could use a remodel. The laundry facilities are inadequate, machines look new but broken a lot and do not get clothes clean, and the amount of clothes you can wash is small. I get a lot more bang for the buck going to a laundromat.
Ever since RA Snyder took over this complex, they've started nickel and dime-ing us. First they started charging for the storage lockers at $10/month, then they started charging pet rent at $25/month even though I already paid a pet deposit (is that legal'). Because there is no air conditioning in the units, a lot of people up fans up by the windows to keep cool, then the manager started making us take all the fans off ledges and shampoo bottles away from the bathroom window. We have the option of going out to buy an air conditioner and the manger will have them put in, but as I understand it, I cannot take the air conditioner with me after I move out.
I'm not sure what the manager does exactly other than being totally in your face for whatever reason. She is really loud, has no tact, and doesn't see herself as a tenant advocate, she's just there to collect your rent check and be obnoxious. I'd leave a message for her to fix one thing, come home to find whatever needed fixing not fixed, and something else that was working fine replaced.

I am a resident at Aspen Park apartments and I have to say that I have been extremely happy here. In fact I moved away a couple of years ago and when I came back I chose these apartments because of the great management. She has always been very accomidating to me and I would recommend this place to anyone. To those of you who choose to slander her I say this....If you don't like the place then by all means get the heck out...what a bunch of cowards!!!

This resident is moving out and isn't the same author as the other four bad reviews I have gotten. I'm the manager and unable to respond in the...I'm the manager section, so I am using the response section to reply. The author of this ratings is moving out in May. Due to the grammer, and content of the author's issues, figuring out the author was simple. Yes, the company I work for requires pet rent and upon the author's renewal of their lease, they were less than happy with this policy. Yes, we don't allow residents to place items on their windowsills and this is actually the part that gave the author away. When I started to enforce taking personal products down from bathroom windowsills and fans out of the windowsills, this upset this resident and prompted a letter to the corporation that mirrors this rating. The author also stated that they would be moving out and not renewing their lease. We do allow our residents to purchase a/c units and I never told the author they couldn't take the a/c unit when they leave. If a resident wants to buy an a/c unit, they need to pay an additional fee to have one of our contracted vendors install it professionally. It is screen doors that residents can purchase for install that they CAN'T take with them once they leave due to causing severe frame damage to the bldg. As far as the author not knowing what I do for a living, they know. I am enforcing rules and procedures that they aren't happy with and decided to move out. I am not here just to collect rent. I love my job and have found my calling in life so to speak and if you are interested in learning more about the complex please feel free to contact me directly and set up a tour.

Wow I was considering moving here until I read that it's managed by R.A. Snyder. Their gestapo-like rules are the reason I left an apt of 15 years, where I was very happy. Never again!
