Lived Here for Years...Would Recommend!

Ok - so it's been a year or so since my review and now I would NOT recommend this property. Although it still is overall nice, the people who have said it has gone downhill recently are totally accurate. Not only has new management taken over, but they've decreased rents and standards for all people moving in. I'm paying $1850 for a 1 bed/1 den, while my neighbor who just moved in to the same floorplan is paying $1525. I've lived here for four years and would expect better treatment than that. Also, parties have become more common, people playing loud music, and people with dogs (so many puppies in the complex even though they aren't allowed) who don't let the front office know they have them. Many of my neighbors get their assigned parking spots parked in. I've seen many nasty notes left on cars asking people not to park in a spot that isn't theirs. Management does nothing to tow cars or curb this behavior. Overall, since rents have decreased, the complex quality has decreased. I think my stay has wore out its welcome 4 years later and now am living month to month until I can move in the next couple months.
Pros: Immaculate grounds, friendly staff (yet a lot of turnover), nice community feel (contests held, free Sunday brunches, pool parties, etc), new apartments with clean appearance, great parking, great location.
Cons: Expensive, pet rent ($50 per month and they don't seem to enforce it in anyway. For those of us who honorably reported our pets, it's kind of a bitter feeling when you see those people with puppies [dogs only one year old are only allowed] coming out of building that don't even allow pets!), thin walls and ceilings. You have to pay the water and trash bill AND have to have renters insurance...so all these costs add up to be pretty expensive.
Ok, so quickly, I'll just say I really like living here. I've lived here for 3 years in two different buildings. I lived on the top floor which was fantastic. I moved to the first floor of another building the following year and had majorly loud tenants above me. Luckily they moved out after about a month and we got a nice quiet tenant above us who we rarely hear. I probably would only recommend living on the top floor here. This is a gated community, however, most of the gate doors here don't lock. They're either broken or people prop them open, so it doesn't feel particularly safe around here. However, the area is very quiet and is close to many restaurants and two major streets full of places to go. The complex also has a little grass park area where dog owners meet after work and let their dogs play. Instead of having to drive to a dog park, this is an awesome area for dogs to get exercise. It's a great grass knoll. The apartments themselves are very clean and modern, have everything you'd need (full size washer and dryer in unit), and are very homey. I recommend this apartment complex and will be sad when I move to another place.
