Canyon Park Apartments

Horrible! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/12/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   We lived here for less than a year and eventually made them let us out of our lease early. The problems started around the time of the san diego fires. Since it was warm and we had to keep our windows closed, we tried to use our AC only to find that it didn't work. We contacted the office and they said they would fix it. We never heard from them and when we called again they said it had been fixed. It still didn't work though. They said they would send someone to check on it again. Nothing happened. Finally after about 4-5 calls (during one of which told us that we our apartment didn't have an AC unit)it finally got fixed - right in time for winter. A few months later we woke up to find out dining area completely flooded because a pipe had burst in the wall. They sent someone to fix it and he made a huge hole in the wall that he left open when he left for the day. He also had pulled up the carpet and left all the carpet tacks sticking up. We had a gaping hole for a week and the carpet was stained because they didn't clean it. It also never dried completely because they "dried" it with a normal fan. When the hole was finally fixed, they never bothered to repaint the wall and the carpet was never properly pu down again. The water had also soaked our kitchen cabinets and we got mold. We informed them and they had someone wipe them down with a sponge which, obviously, did not fix the problem. My husband and I, along with our cat, were all sick from the mold. That is when we made them let us out of our lease. We always had problems with the management. We asked them to give us receipts every time they did maintenance but they never did. We also had major issues with the college age neighbors above us. They were making "movies" and would be punding up and down the stairs and putting out flood lights at all hours of the day. Other problems include the laudry rooms which neither cleaned the clothes nor dried them sufficiently. Parking was also a nightmare. Overall, it was a horrible exerience living there.
