Beware of Security Deposit Fraud Scheme From: unigrip@msn.com Date posted: 6/21/2005 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005 1 response   This apartment manager keeps deposits in by calling them holding deposits. Any potential tenants must know that California law clearly states that security deposits cannot be deamed non-refundable. Be careful and get everything in writing. Including a breakdown of how your deposit was spent. Applicants would be best to stay away because of their policy of non-refundable deposits. The people are nice enough but completely ignorant of the law.
