Don't bother

I moved in in June of 2006. I was very happy to get this place and have enjoyed living here. That was until BRE took over management of this property. It is painfully obvious that their number one priority is money. They are raising our rent by nearly 20% (about $340/month). What do you get in return' - different colored appliances and new counter-tops. Neat...
The biggest place they offer is 1080 square feet. That is about a $200 per 100 square feet. Other comparable properties offer you 100 square feet for around $110. For the past 3 weeks we have been looking for a different place to live and there are several places, whether it be apartments, single family homes, townhomes, or condos that offer 1200 - 1650 square feet. Rent for these has been anywhere from $1550.00 to $1850.00. Bottom line, there are many other options out there besides Carmel Summit.
Do yourself a favor and don't bother with Carmel Summit unless you like overpaying for a crackerjack box sized living space.
