SUCKS!!!

My wife and I moved in the month before BRE took over (October 2006). So we got to experience all the make-over hoop-la. (which is just new paint, re-worked stairs, and new appliances it didn't need). The upgrades were just to charge another $200. The newer appliances aren't worth $200 a month. And yes, the colors are hideous. If you're "lucky" like we are, then you'll have construction workers outside everyday. And, on somedays (random), you'll get notices telling you that your apt is off limits during the day for construction purposes. "hey I thought this was a simple upgrade'" Of course, they won't re-imburse your rent for the days you can't use your apt, which is illegal according to renter rights laws.
From personal experience with the Manager, he is a jerk. Poor guy has no social skills. They purposely hold off on repairs and spend time arguing against a need for a repair to save a couple bucks and make our living situation all the more annoying.
The gym is puny. Parking is plentiful because no one wants to live here. Quiet area because every one is in shock from the poor management and increased rent. The pool is pretty. The security gates work when they feel like it. The room sizes and patios are spacious. too many speed bumps.
I can't wait for my lease to be up.
Advice, rent a condo. They are about 15% cheaper. That's where we are going.
