My husband and I have been at Carmel Landing (used to be Reflections) for over 3 years, this is also a BRE run company. I have to diasgree with all the postings about the negative statements of the staff and maint. crew. Their leasing ofiice and staff is beyong nice, helpful and on top of things, and when I had a problem with my apartment the maintanence staff was over within hours. We are neighbors with the manager of the maintanence staff and he is a wonderful person.
When I found out BRE bough Carmel Summit I was thrilled. The previous owners were nut cases, stating you could have no debt what so ever to live there, (my husband is leasing a car and they wont rent to us because of that). The apartment we are oving into is a 2 bedroom 1100 sq feet and is truly huge and beautiful. Trust me you wont find bedrooms and two huge walk in closets like that anywhere in San Diego. I also like the up graded kitchen features, silver fridge and those cool flat top stoves. Parking is great and the extra garage is great for storge. We saw the construction crew when visiting but they seemed nice and just doing their job. We got an amazing price for our apartment maybe due to the fact that we have been with BRE properities for several years. I love the property and think the office staff is wonderful!

Carmel Landing probably doesn't have a problem with management because the management is on site. If you live in Carmel Summit you have to call down to Carmel Landing & have to wait hours or days before anyone can even get back to you because they have to go up to the other property which may or may not be daily. They seem to put priority on Carmel Landing which I find strange since Carmel Summit is the nicer apartment complex. I can't tell you how many times I've been blow off & how visually worse the property looks since BRE took over. They are beautiful apartments, it's sad that BRE has done everything they can to make current residents want to leave. All but one of my neighbors have left because of them. That many people moving out for the same reason tells you something. I just received a note saying if I want to renew my lease not only is our rent going up but our garage & onsite parking will be extra charges. Needless to say we didn't even consider staying.
