I moved out of Coral Bay in May 07 but still occasionally log onto this to read the hilarious (and tragic) stories. I agree with most all of the reviews on here...

Yes, the parking sucks as I worked nights waitressing and would frequently get home after 10pm with no place to park except CiCi's nails or the elementary school (both extremely far from my apt as I lived right in the middle of Coral Bay) and would have to get up at the crack of dawn to move my car so it wouldn't be towed.

Yes, the staff is mostly incompetent. I lived there only one year and management changed 3 times in that year! It got a little (and i mean TINY) bit better each time but essentially, they suck at their jobs AND they were a**holes each time we had ANY requests, complaints, or even to pick up a package seemed like a huge chore. My hubbie and I would each try to make the other go to the office when anything needed picking up, maintenance request, etc.

Yes, the maintenance lacks a bit. I say a bit b.c Charlie was the nicest maintenance guy working there and would help us out with ANYTHING, ANYTIME we saw him but we still had to put MANY requests in that years time for things broken due to ------ repair techniques (dishwasher, hot water heater, sewage backing up into bathtub/toilet, outlets CONSTANTLY not working).

Yes, sewage backed up TWICE in our bathroom BADLY enough to spread onto the carpet a little. THAT was F*ckin disgusting lemme tell you! Although it only happened twice IN our apt, it backed up CONSTANTLY outside into the parking lot from those sewage drain things. You'd walk to your car (if you were actually lucky enough to park in the parking lot) and find yourself walking on toilet paper and feces. It was gnarly!

The pet policy was what got us to move there. They accept all weight dogs and cats and I knew of ppl who had birds, snakes, and all kinds of weird ---- that I'm sure the office didn't know about. We had one small dog (13 lbs.) when we moved in and paid the extra $30/month to be legit but while living there we also got another small dog and didn't notify the office. We figured they were screwing us out of enough other stuff so didn't feel neccesary to report it and our dogs barely barked so neighbors didn't even know we had dogs for the longest time. I thought I was told there was a pet breed restriction against the usually more aggressive dogs (Rotties, Chows, Pits) but saw enough of those breeds to know that they weren't that strict on it.

Our neighbors while we lived there were fine i suppose. We never got to know them b/c we're not social around the apt. There were 2 mexican families living in the 2 BR across from our downstairs apt (yes, you read right...2 families, but nice ppl). We said 'hola' a few times and that was it. The ppl upstairs were fine too if a little noisy. Thier labrador would bark incessantly sometimes and it was VERY easy to hear them having sex regularly. Once we were used to it, it was pretty funny. Except of course when my mother was visiting from NY and heard it. LOL. Once there was a problem with a tenant across the grass from our apt building. He was high on something and drunk and ranting/raving for over 3 hrs about how he wanted to kill the girl upstairs from him or something. There were about a dozen of us outside watching the whole debacle b.c it was amusing at first but we all called the cops and noone showed the entire time he was going crazy.

The pool was nice, kinda dirty and i SWEAR i saw teenagers having sex in the pool once. That pretty much ruined it for me. The hot tub was always full of ppl which sucked but if you got there early enough it was nice.

All in all, there were a lot of crazy things that happened the year we lived there but our cars were never broken into and it was a good price for the place. That's not to say that i didn't have my pepper spray with me and out EVERY single time I walked around the complex b.c i DID and a few times thought I would have to use it. There are a LOT of sketchy ppl who live there and LOTS of homeless ppl every day going through the trash. We were very careful and shredded anything with our name/address on it. Maybe it sounds crazy but it was very easy for anyone to get in our trash and get any info they wanted. Sooo, sketchy place...be careful, cautious, and maybe invest in some pepper spray or at least learn some kickboxing. LOL

Hope this helps!
