Some perks, but no safety!

Overall the apartment complex isn't all bad. The leasing staff was actually pretty helpful for us and took notes every time we called or spoke with them about anything. The maintenance staff also gets a thumbs up, they always showed up quickly and made sure the job was finished completely before they left. Our unit was on the 3rd floor facing directly west...we got good sun exposure however there is one window in the living room and one in the bedroom...so not much natural light regardless. If you're not on the top floor you're going to hear your neighbors...we knew that but we underestimated just how thin the ceilings were...we actually heard the people above us blow their nose now and then. The pools and grounds are kept clean and the gym is actually AMAZING.
Now for the reasons we do not recommend you live here...we signed a 1 year lease but only stayed 6 months. Our car was broken into twice within a five month period - in the gated "secure" gate with the supposed courtesy patrol. There was a homeless woman living in the garage stall of the parking garage for about 3 months before she was finally moved out. The parking garages are gated but have unlocked doors at the gate enterances that allow anyone to get in or out of the garage and building. While there is a grand total of one camera in each two level garage...this does nothing. After my car was broken into twice I could not feel safe walking around on my own always wondering who was in the complex.
If you're a college kid, looking for a dorm like building to live in for a year...go ahead and check it out. Be weary of the parking situation and know that you'll hear your neighbors...but hey this is what you expect in an actual dorm. As a college graduate it is not acceptable.
