TO BEGIN WITH I AM NOT CONNECTED WITH MANAGEMENT OR THE STAFF IN ANY WAY!
I have been at CV South since it opened. I have had no problems with management, security or maintenace You know, a little goes a long way. This is my home. I really do love living here. This is not my dorm room or my "temporary quarters." I smile, I am considerate and would only hope that some of the other residents would do the same. I'm not saying this about all tenants but a pretty high majority of them.
I clean up after myself if I drop something in the hallway. I do not party while people are trying to sleep during normal working business hours. Can all the complaining people say the same thing'
I can request something from the office and they are more than willing to help. In fact they go out of their way to help no matter what. They do care. They do want a good property and it's up to the tenants to help make it that way. We are all in this together. They are doing a great job keeping the property clean and up to date and keeping it looking great. I'm sure that the majority of the people that are complaining don't do things to help keep the property like the management is trying to keep it.
They are constantly fixing things. They are constanting repairing things that are being torn or broken by tenants who don't care about other people's properties. They are constantly on top of lighting and cleaning and maintenance of the property. The property is beautiful. I've seen people throw cigarette butts in the hallways and leave their empty beer cans in the halls or elevators. This is wrong.
Do any of you who are complaining care about where you are living or are you just complaining because you don't know better' Stop the negative reviews. Concentrate on positives.
Okay, so the walls are thin but if the majority of tenants were considerate of their neighbors there wouldn't be a problem. Get to know your neighbor. If they are noisy, go introduce yourself and ask them to please keep the noise down. That's not a terrible thing to do.
There is NOTHING wrong with management. They are great people. They are there to help you, THE TENANTS. Why do so many of you feel the need to complain and write negative reviews'
Another issue - cars - do you leave things in your cars so that people can see them and break into your car. That's one way of preventing theft and break ins. That's your fault. Not the fault of the management. For your information, this neighborhood is considered a "high crime" area - it has nothing to do with management. Stop bashing them for not doing their job. Go anywhere else in this neighborhood and I guarantee that there will be the same problem.
There is a no pet policy here. Yet, everytime I turn around I see another dog. Whoever you dog owners are, maybe you're not picking up after your dogs in the hallways. Has anyone ever thought of that'
Saying hello to your neighbor is not a bad thing. Saying hello to people in the elevator is really not a bad thing. Being pleasant when you request something from the office with a smile on your face is a smart thing. Like I said, a little goes a long way. The staff is always polite to me. I have never seen any of them being rude to me or anyone else.
The office staff is great -- the maintenance staff is great and security is there to help us. They work hard at their jobs.
Please respect the people that do care. You may be in school now or even in the work force and not really care about being nice to people, but being nice will get you farther than anything you can learn in school. Practice it where you live. Stop complaining. Start enjoying where you live. Start enjoying life without complaining.
We have great apartments -- they are a great size, the amenities and the proximity to everything can't be beat. Start appreciating what you have. Costa Verde is a great place to call home. If you don't like it here just move away. Stop all the bad reviews.
I felt that it was time for a good review and I have nothing bad to say about the management, the maintenance staff or the security. I actually have all GOOD to say about them. THEY REALLY DO CARE!!
For all of your information, I am not connected to the staff or management at all. I am a resident who really cares about my "home" and want to say THANK YOU to a staff that does go over and above to help their residents and keeping the property looking as good as it looked when it was first built!

I agree with the poster. It's about time that someone wrote something nice about the people who work at this property. It's a huge development and it takes a lot of people to run is as well as they do. It takes a special kind of person to deal with all the issues that are involved with renting to all kinds of people. They are doing an excellent job.

Obviously, this review was writen by the Costa verde's managements office.....Everything is the "TANENT'S FAULT",huh????
"It's the tenant's fault that their cars were broken into"
"It's the tenant's rude action so the office people were rude to them"
"It's the tenant's pickiness complaining about the neighbour's flushing noise"
I believe your tenants move out too much and not many people like to move into, making your properties vacancy rate are higher, right??
Consider the new reason why....because of the attitude of the management ,not because of your tenants.

In case the two of you can't read I specifically stated that I am NOT connected with the management office whatsoever. What part of that did you not understand?

I too have lived in CV since it opened. My main complaint is with the tenants, and I blame that on management. There used to be a nice mixture of students, retirees, families, singles, professionals, and even some military officers. But over the years, manangement has rented to more and more students, or other younger people, who party and don't respect where they live. The place has turned into a party zone. Trash is spread all over; things are broken; noise at all hours; there is no parking for guests because the students park in all the guest spots; and there is the constant smell of pot and tobacco smoke. This is because management permits co-signers, so mommy and daddy pay for little Ms. party girl or guy to live it up while at UCSD.

Hmm yes, you put that in big bold letters at the top. However, you seem to be praising the management in every other paragraph...they can't be THAT great can they? The fact that you keep repeating several times throughout your post that you are in no way affiliated with management makes it even more suspicious. This post that you put up seems to be solely for the purpose of putting CV management on a pedestal. While I can't be sure now how management at CV is now, I know that it WAS horrible. Let's just leave it at that. You can be one of the few who love CV, there is no need to point fingers at other tenants for their wrongdoing.

I also agree with the original poster. There used to be a wonderful mix of people living at the complex; however, I don't believe that it's the management's fault that we now have mostly students. Unfortunately, I am sure that management can get more money from the students and it is a business. I know that this is my home and I enjoy living here. I have never had a problem with the leasing staff, the security or the maintenance people. They have always been professional and they do get things done as quickly as they can. I am happy here and I am happy with the staff that is currently working at costa verde.

Management can rent to whomever they want to, within equality rules of course. They could avoid the problem of bad tenants by not permiting co-signers and increasing evictions. If they want more $$$, then they can keep the rowdy kids and the headaches. The civilized renters will move elsewhere.

why do you assume that people who have made complaints and negative reviews are impolite to office staff, picky, and inconsiderate to their neighbors? I keep to myself, follow the rules, have a great relationship with the maintenance crew, and have a great relationship with my long-term neighbor until they recently moved away. However, none of that takes away the fact that some tenants like to have parties till 3am, people park with no permits, and Summit Security does not resond to such complaints in a timely manner. It doesn't take away the fact that you can never get a hold of management by phone. It doesn't take away the fact that management has such a high turnover and the quality of their service is comparable to playing roulette.
You also mentioned that there's nothing wrong with management, but that tenants break the policies and have pets, make loud noises, etc. So, if management doesn't take care of rule-breakers, isn't that the management's fault?

Into retirement, we found a positive lifestyle at Costa Verde Village. In the 3 1/2 years of residence we have adjusted to living among college students and visitors from different countries. We have also developed friendships with other Senior residents. We've made it a point to follow the rules to respect our nieghbors and have been annoyed when when, on occasion, our neighbors haven't respected us. But we understand that apartment living is very different from living in a private home. We, therefore, greatly appreciate the treatment we have received from the management and maintenance staffs. We have always been treated with respect by Costa Verde employees. All problems we've reported have been solved promptly and with good spirit. And to add to our pleasure, we have been lucky enough to find this comfort in such a great location. We are in walking distance of shopping, restaurants, postal services and other businesses that accommodate us. How lucky we were that our apartment search ended here at Costa Verde Village!

Ok, Costa Verde may not have the BEST management, they do a good job. Costa Verde is the LARGEST apartment complex out of all the UTC area and they actually do a decent job. I was called on a noise complaint at 1:20 so there is someone on duty. The management does as much as they can to get rid of pets but they cannot go door to door and look inside each apartment without cause as it is AGAINST THE LAW. I have yet to see a car break in at my apartment building. Management is generally friendly, but there are times where some of them are mean. I agree with the original poster as he/she does fault the owners of vehicles for leaving prized items in their vehicles but I do not blame them nor the management. It's just responsible to keep them away from temptation. The only ones to blame are the thieves. I have loved living here except for the elevator breaking down.
