The Ghetto of Tierrasanta

I would NOT recommend living at El Dorado Hills Apartments! I signed my lease exactly 1 year from today and I m moving out. I m a Tierrasanta native, I went to Farb middle school and Serra High School, and needless to say Tierrasanta is a beautiful place to live. I moved out of my parent s house last year and I wanted to stay in the neighborhood. So I found El Dorado Hills Apartments, I liked all the ammonites that it included gated community, gym, pool, tennis courts, washer and dryer, fire place, and my #1 priority of being pet friendly. I did think the rent was a little too expensive and had to pay $40 extra for pet rent but I was desperate and I figured location location location.
WHAT A MISTAKE! First of all, I work at the police department so I wanted to live in a safe and gated community. Gated huh' What a joke, the gate is open all day long and the so called gated doors on occasion work. My car was tampered with and my key hole was jammed with a screw driver. Luckily who ever tried to break in my car was unsuccessful. Three months later the suspect came back to finish the job and stole my car out of my assigned car port inside this so called gate. I check the stats of how many stolen cars were reported the same month that my car was taken and there were 8 cases just on the street of Colina Dorada Dr. If that s not bad enough, I had a scam artist come to my door claming he was my neighbor and said there was a family emergency and had to go to the hospital. Well his speech was impressive because my boy friend and I fell for it and gave him $20 dollars for cab money. So, 1 hour goes by and we go to his so called apartment to see if he actually lived there and what a surprise the apartment was vacant. Do you really want people like this walking around your house' Not to mention you ll get a ton of solicitors on a daily basis. Where are the security guards you ask' Try the gym watching T.V. or in the cars eating jack in the box.
There are not enough parking spaces to accommodate all of the tenants. The spaces are so small your best bet is to drive a tiny mini cooper. Unless you want door dings and scratches on your car take my advice and park on the street.
Noise is an under statement, the walls are like paper. You hear everything, I mean everything!
Grounds are well kept but seriously how many times do you have to mow the grass in 1 week. I work grave yards and sleep during the day and at least 2-3 times a week there out there with loud blowers, lawn mowers, cutting down trees, etc. I can not sleep with all this non sense! They water the grass 3 times a day so it s constantly flooding, any landscaper would know you don t over water your grass. Oh yeah there s a huge infestation with spiders. I ve found 4 black widows in my patio closet and I had a serious bite with a brown house spider which got infected by the way. My neighbor s 6 month old baby was bitten as well and taken to the emergency room. Safety'''
Maintenance comes at least 2-3 days after you call and the staff hhmmm who are they' They change management so fast I can t tell who works there or not. I ve complained only on two occasions but it doesn t seem the office staff even care or sympathetic.
So save your time and money and do not live at the El Dorado Hills Apartments!

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I have never been able to use my assigned parking space for the entire six months I've lived at El Dorado Hills. It is probably technically possible for a vehicle to fit into the space, but it would be absolutely impossible to get out of the vehicle. The management's response was "I'm sorry...but it's a pre-assigned spot. I can't do anything about that."
As for spiders, I have seen some really nasty looking ones, some which do appear to be very large black widows.
Add to that a neighbor (in the next building!!!!) thinks that she is trying out to be porn star and screams and moans like a fool several nights a week. You can even hear it through the shut windows.

I also agree... the grounds are really attractive as well as all of the amenities. However, we have had continuous problems with plumbing. Our bathroom toilet has flooded 3 times. Each time they dry out the carpet and clean it and put it back instead of giving us new carpet. We also had a pipe burst inside the wall next to the washer/ dryer. It ruined the carpet in two rooms. They moved all of our furniture to another room, replaced the padding but then just dried out the carpet, cleaned it, and put the same carpet back. I understand doing that the first time but after the 2nd or 3rd time - just replace the freikin' carpet!! It's got mold in it! And they actually missed a spot in one of our closets that we didn't discover for a few weeks. The mold is inside of the wall now and we've been breathing it in for a while. Meanwhile, the spider problem is HUGE!!! This place is absolutely infested. We had them come and spray once but it didn't work. We find and kill spiders almost on a daily basis.

Sounds like you have some anger issues. I have lived in the property for over a year, and yes, I would have to agree that the parking situation is not the greatest, but you seem to forget that this property was bilt years earler when vehicles were much smaller. As far as the noise level, I must be lucky then, because I don't hear anything from my neighbors. I have lived in many aparments and I would have to say this community is the best one I have lived in. We live in a canyon, so it is expected to see a spider especially over the summer months. The office staff is great at getting the apartment sprayed as needed. If you work at the police department, wouldn't you had checked the property to begin with? I mean, if I were to work in the department I would definitely check out the crime that happens before moving in.. Overall, I don't think anywhere in San Diego is 100% safe from car theft. I have friends that live in Carmel Valley and had their car stolen from their garage. I think you are somewhat exagerating. Every property has it's ups and downs. If you are so unhappy then you should consider buying a home.

I totally agree I???m leaving next month just for the same reasons. To this anonymous person, sounds like you???re the one with anger issues. This is a blog meaning free speech! If I was shopping for a place to live I would want to know these things. The author said there a Tierrsanta native why would they have too check out the area with the police department? Did you not understand this? Its funny you mentioned that you have friends in Carmel Valley because you said the same speech to me just the other day when I had made a complaint about my car being broken in to. Hello you???re not anonymous YOUR EL DORADO???S MANAGEMENT! No wonder your getting all worked up on a little blog is this affecting your sales? Take the criticism and do something about it!
