I have lived here for about a year now, and have no major problems with pricing, management or amenities, (you get what you pay for, San Diego's expensive!) The problem is... the neighbors. It seems like this place chooses to rent to the lowest common denominator, prostitutes, frat boys, negligent parents, voyeurs, sex offenders, etc. I am constantly subject to blaring techno and fat drunk morons belching and hooting on their balconies until three am. Never mind that the pool is usually full of copulating "guests", (read: non-residents.) Security is actually pretty quick to respond to complaints, but they don't have the legal power to enforce noise ordinances like the police can. If you keep your apartment clean, drive slowly around the complex and pay your rent on time, (all things that you accept as YOUR responsibilities when you signed the lease) you will have few problems aside from the horrible social atmosphere of this place. Will be calling the police from now on about noise, not the "complimentary security officer."

I do not work for El Dorado Hills nor do I work for the HG Fenton Company. I do however work in the rental industry and "renters" need to learn and understand facts of renting an apartment. First and foremost State, local and Federal fair housing laws prohibit discrimination of any type towards any protected class which is pretty much everyone. This means that management companies set up policies and rent to qualified prospect in a non-discriminatory manner solely based on prior rental history, income and credit. The other challenge is when management companies run into issues that may be pursued with legal action because California is such a renter friendly state you must go through a very slow costly legal process. We all enjoy our peace and quiet and some of us are more sensitive to that than others. The lesson to be learned in all of this is that as a renter of an apartment you must first identify what your needs are for selecting a home that is "perfect" for you. Some measures of doing your homework when finding your perfect home may include, speaking to neighbors, internet research, police website reasearch, stopping by the property at "peak times", testing water pressue, listening for noise, etc. Everyone must remember when residing in a multi-family housing complex to respect your neighbor and live by the the golden rule. Remember to respect everyone and go out of the way remembering we each a have diverse percetion of what is acceptable. Take pride and follow these simple rules and you too can enjoy many years of successful happy renting in beautfiful places such as El Dorado Hills.
