Not only is the Heritage a wonderful apartment complex, but Cortez Hill is the best place to live in San Diego. (more about that in a moment!)
Heritage staff are incredibly helpful and friendly; this includes both leasing office and maintenenace staff. We lived in a street-entrance townhome for 16 months and could not have been happier. We moved to San Diego from the East Coast with no knowledge its neighborhoods, and are so glad we happened to end up here!
1) Always a fast response to any maintenence problem (a few burnt-out lightbulbs and a clogged garbage disposal, which was promptly fixed even though it was totally our fault!) 2) Nice and quiet neighbors (people generally keep to themselves, although about once a month you'd hear a small party on somebody's balcony on a weekend night- nothing compared to the constant noise of the Gaslamp!) 3) A perfect neighborhood- my husband and I only needed one car, and we walked to work, to bars, to restaurants, the gym, etc. almost all the time. Everything is so close! There is even a hair salon, Italian cafe, dry cleaners and a little mini-mart across the street. 4) Also great for pets- the Heritage has one building that is pet-friendly, and its sister building across the street does not allow pets. So, as a pet owner, you don't get complaints from non-pet-loving people, and as a person without a pet you don't have to deal with them since they're in a different building. 5) We got a large portion of our deposit back after moving out- the staff are very fair and clearly go over your charges in a walk-through prior to moveout.
