Not anywhere near as nice as it looks

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005

We've been here almost a year now and have had no end of trouble. Neighbors on one side are drug dealers, across the street are strippers and most people in the area do drugs. Loud parties are a common occurance and there's even a guy who comes screaming out of his house every night at about midnight-can't figure out if he's under the influence or not. The walls in the breezeway between our apartment and the next have been tagged by gang kids too many times to count. When I leave my windows open to get some air my ears are regularly assaulted by profanity and profane music. The kids in the neighorhood all appear to be in the same gang and regularly cause trouble in the area.
People walk their dogs without leashing them and I have yet to see someone actually clean up after their dog.
When we moved in they told us that although the apartment didn't have a/c we wouldn't need it and if we for some reason got too hot we could just go over to the pool. Well, considering that there's hardly a moment when the gang kids aren't there screaming and yelling and blasting music we have yet to use the pool.
They advertize a fitness room and told us when we moved in that it would be repaired and opened within a couple weeks. One year later it still doesn't work.
Maintanance seems to prefer to rig something when it comes to repairs instead of actually fixing anything. We've had a myriad of problems in that department.
I don't want to jinx anything, but so far we haven't had any problems with stuff being stolen.
Parking is not only inadequate, but it's badly lit-meaning unsafe, and the spaces are impossible to get into.
The office staff is incompetent and there are so many of them that they don't communicate with each other. I'm in there just about every month either to give my rent or with a complaint or service request and I've never dealt with the same person twice. I've never even SEEN the same person twice.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Don't even consider it. You expect to be treated like this and live in an environment like this in SE San Diego, but not in College.
