Worst Management I've ever Dealt With

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
My fiancee and I lived at Hillside Gardens about 3 years ago and it was the worst rental experience of my life. Besides the horribly noisy, inconsiderate, slobs for neighbors, the management was the worst. We constantly had to ask repeatedly for anything to be repaired. Something as simple as the light bulb being replaced outside our entry way (which in that neighborhood you do NOT want a dark lit entrance to your apartment) took WEEKS to replace. One night our car was parked in front of our own garage that we paid rent on because there were no other spaces available, the next morning we wake to find that it was towed, thanks to the management. How courteous of them to knock on our door and ask us to move it first, huh' My fiancee and I were accosted one night by gang members while walking our dog. Management decided to "upgrade" the apartments by installing fans in all the bathrooms, which took about 3 to 4 weeks of having an exposed ceiling and plaster all over the bathroom and never knowing when maintenence was coming in. To top it all off, when we finally tried to escape this hell hole, when we thought it was all over...we were already living in a new place for a couple months when we get an EVICTION NOTICE from hillside gardens management. It had been forwarded by the post office (since we left our forwarding address upon moving out.) Mind you, I had given the management there my 30 days notice in writing like you're supposed to. We moved all our stuff out and were out of there. They never once tried to call, and had they looked in the apartment, would have found it empty. When I got this forwarded notice, I went directly to hillside gardens rental office and demanded to know how I could have been evicted from an apartment that I hadn't lived in for months. Their reason was that we never turned in our keys upon moving out. This was a lie. Now whether or not the idiots in the office took those keys and shoved them up their ass or in their ears, I don't care. I gave them f**** written notice that we were leaving. Now I have an eviction on my record because of this hell hole, which makes it very difficult to get into a new place now since I have to explain (and most landlords dont believe that any management could possilby be this incompetent) and I regret ever setting foot on that property. Never ever ever ever rent an apartment here. It could stay on your record for the next 7 years.

| I sorry to hear about your experience at Hillside Gardens over 5 years ago with the old management company. Since new management has taken over long since you have been gone I can't response on why an eviction would be on your record without cause. Thank You | |
