Years at this apartment:

I lived at LJIG for one year in a relatively dim one-bedroom apartment, and then a 2-bedrooms to share and cut costs, for 2 years. My bedroom in the larger apartment was enormous and had a beautiful amount of light, although my roommate's bedroom was rather dark. What I mostly miss about the complex is how efficiently they would take care of any maintenance problem we would call them about. I never had to call twice about the same problem, unlike where I live now. Both apartments were perfectly clean and functional even though the fridge and microwave might have been from the early eighties. The laundry room was huge, and I loved being able to run 4 loads of laundry at a time without bothering anyone. The fitness room was on the small side, so you might end up getting a gym membership. There is a high turnover of UCSD students, who sometimes share 4 people to a 2-bedroom place but they are rarely loud, too busy studying. The neighborhood is terribly dull for those who like to go out at night or like a friendly neighborhood to walk around. It's very practical for people who commute to UCSD or the biotechs and research institutes on Torrey Pines, and it's close to a bunch of malls. If it wasn't for the terribly dull neighborhood, I'd still be there.
