Please run far, far away. They will tell you whatever it takes to move you in, but it's all down hill from there. The place is old, MOLDY and management is hostile. Yes, they have a brand new workout room and party room, but don't expect to use it unless you like to workout and have parties between the regular business hours of 9AM and 5PM. When moving out don't expect to get your deposit back. Just add it in to the cost of rent, because they will charge you through the nose for normal wear and tear. I've lived in many apartments, and this is the FIRST time I've not gotten every single cent of my deposit back. La Jolla Nobel Apartments did not give me one dime back, even with four of my friends helping me to clean and scrub until the place shined like new. Have you ever been charged $175 to repaint an apartment' Not me. The walls were white when I moved in, and still white when I moved out, yet somehow it was my responsibility to pay for their regular building upkeep and maintenance. It's a mystery. They are crooks, and they charge you because they know most people are too tired and too poor to take them to small claims court over $400. Your deposit is money in the bank to them. Kiss it goodbye!
Also, it's incredibly noisy, being that it's located on the Nobel and Genessee. Parking is fine if your mode of transport is a scooter, since that's about all that fits in the spaces they've created. No matter what they tell you, there will NOT be a parking space for you if you come home after 9PM.
Oh, and my favorite. The maintenance guy thinks it's OK to enter the apartment without leaving a note, so you never know when he's been in there. CREEPY. CREEPY. CREEPY.
