After almost seven months as a tenant, I find this complex remains one of the finest in this upscale area of San Diego despite some very recent crime problems here as well as in other multi-unit buildings in the area, as confirmed by a nearby relative and friends. While I understand the La Jolla Palms staff is taking tangible steps to ensure the safety of this complex because of these recent problems, it is only fair to point out as well the qualities that make it a unique place to live: it looks more like a condominium than a rental complex because of its solid construction, which keeps it quiet; and its public areas, including the lush gardens, are well-maintained. My family visitors have been impressed with my apartment as well -- with the quality of its appliances and carpeting, and the two-tone painting work throughout the unit; it had been refurbished before I moved in. The staff here has been consistently responsive and my neighbors sociable. I expect to remain here for some time.

As the author of the above review, I live in Building #4 and have no business connections with La Jolla Palms whatsoever. I just find it unfair to defame a complex when there remain many good qualities, as I've experienced and as confirmed by earlier reviews.
