There is a warning sign, in the parking lot, next to the elevator that warns that the property uses chemicals that may be cancerous. (I was not shown this area until after I signed the lease). There is a history of crime and people's cars being broken into. Security is not good. The gate is not secure, sometimes up sometimes down, anyone can pretty much walk up to your home. I was afraid to leave my dog there during the day. Gisele, the rental agent, pretended to be nice until she got my money - then her "true colors" - which are black - began to show. She became "cold and unfriendly." She has a rental assistant, whom I found was as dumb as a doorknob and rude. Talking to the assistant was like talking to a piece of "sheet-rock." And a few times, I wanted to just slap the assistant.
They need new Management, and professional people to take over. Otherwise, the apartments are going to go down.
For the 1800-2200/month, you can find a nice house/condo/townhouse or apartment that has security and safe -

I'm a resident and couldn't disagree more. First of all the warning sign is required by California law at all properties with garages, not just this one (due to bleach and other chemicals kept on site). Secondly, there is a security car parked next to the gate nightly. And what does it mean anyone can walk into your home? If you are leaving your door unlocked then that's foolish. The units come with locks obviously and also include a security system. The entire staff including Gisela, Vannah, and Daniel couldn't be nicer and more helpful. Oh, and by the way, just because you are mad doesn't mean you should post multiple time anonymously. It is low class and can clearly be seen by the terminology used in your various posts.

The reviewer's unkind remarks about the rental agents sadly tell us more about the reviewer than the agents. As a resident I know that all of the rental office staff members here couldn't be friendlier and more accommodating, as most visitors and residents would certainly tell you.

I'm searching for apartments and it's reviews from uneducated people such as this that infuriate me. First off, any building that has lead based paint (production stopped in CA since 1981 but used for sometime after due to inventory) is required by law to have that sign. This is because lead is a carcinogen if you ingest it. The only way the lead would harm you is if you were to eat the paint chips (I'm not kidding) on a chronic basis. In fact, with the age of most buildings in the state, just about all of them should have that sign. It doesn't mean they are actively using any toxic chemicals now.
This review was not helpful and I agree with the other commenters that it says more about the reviewer.

Obviously you must be a stupid person because #1 I have NEVER EVER posted on this list before. I don't play games. Don't assume everyone is manipulative like you. #2 You just described yourself - "no class" and add "not smart" because you just made a fool of yourself - because there is nothing to disguise I have never been on this list before. #3 Idiot - the guard sits next to the gate for a very short time and leaves for several hours. Anyone can walk up the stairs to your apartment door and attack someone. #4 The point was this information was not openly communicated/disclosed before the terms of the lease - not whether this the sign is required by CA law or not - READING is FUNDAMENTAL. As far as uneducated - you must be calling yourself uneducated because you must not be the sharpest knife out of the drawer if you do not smell those awful toxic chemicals as you walk by - that have absolutely nothing to do with lead (dummy). You should be infuriated with yourself because you are the only one uneducated and LACKING COMMON SENSE. #5 CLUE - Locks can be broken and many tenants have been robbed - and those are the people I have compassion for. So if/when something happens to you - you will deserve it due to your ignorance. #6 For you to not accept another person's "opinion" demonstrates that you are a "loser." I lived in LaJolla Palms temporarily only because it was necessary for a business trip. I live in huge Mansion and I live much better than you - You are in a a low class place like LaJolla Palms that is the size of my shoe closet - so your standards are much lower than mine therefore you could not comprehend my remarks. In other words, I am a success - you are not. I am on another business trip and I just perused this list today to see if my rating review was posted. Fortunately, I - unlike yourself - have a life - so I will NEVER EVER read your stupid answer to my new comment.

Oh my God, shut up about your "huge mansion", Mr. or Mrs. Insecurity. If LaJolla Palms was so distasteful to you why didn't you take your loads of money that I'm certain you have since you have a "huge mansion" and stay somewhere clASSier that better suits your pampered-cater-to-me "huge mansion" life style. And I bet 10 to 1 you WILL come back to read the posts because you can't resist it. You are a horses patoot and are ignorant yourself since you stated that the other posts are by those with lower standards than yourself because they live in something about the size of your "shoe closet". What the crap?? Please illuminate to me diametrically just WHEN the size of someones home appropriately reflect their STANDARDS? You horses patoot! You know nothing about stanards OR human beings because you are obviously in your own world trying to compensate for who knows what (read: small member or ugly mug). And for the record, look who couldn't accept another persons "opinion": YOU!
P.S. Thank you for making me laugh this morning. :o)
