many travel nurses, many break-ins

Notes for RN travelers:
If you are a travel nurse, you have to consider if you are willing to have the chance of getting your apartment or car broken into, or your car completely stolen, against the beauty and fun of a lively community. La Mirage houses many travel nurses, and the recruiting companies do not tell you about all the break-ins and safety issues there are, because they pay for corporate housing that they do not investigate well. I lived at La Mirage for over 7 months and enjoyed the environment, gym, many pools and hottubs. Many of my friends had their cars broken into (no security cameras and a lot of underground parking). There are a lot of young college-aged persons that hang out nightly and at times I did not feel safe walking around at night. The "inner circle" of apartments are newer and nicer. The "outer circle" of apartments are older, but maintenance comes about 2-3 days after you call them if you have a problem and can usually fix it. Great location, questionable security and safety.
