NOT Worth the Money

This year La Mirage has increased my rent $50 per month (even though we are in the middle of a huge economic crisis) while most other locations in San Diego have dropped rents. Just shows how little they care about you at La Mirage.
On top of that, what am I getting for the rent I pay, let alone with an increase' First, the staff is horrible. If you have a maintenance request, you will have to call 3-4 times before someone will come out, and leaving a message is worthless. I have never gotten a call back after leaving a message with the maintenance department. The rental staff treats you like a number, and are generally unknowledgeable when asking a question.
Within the last year, dogs were allowed. Now, all you hear are dogs barking, EVERYWHERE! And just try taking a step on the grounds without having to dodge poop that some inconsiderate person as not cleaned up.
Parking is an issue if you drive anything bigger than a Smart Car. Spaces are so tight, that even if everyone is perfectly centered, you will have a hard time opening the doors of your car.
In addition to parking issues, the 4 other units I know in this complex have had all their cars broken into, and in one case a motorcycle was stolen...all within the last 2 years. And those are just people I know out of 1,400 units.
Finally, my water bill is $75 dollars per month. This is not that I use much water, but La Mirage charges based on your unit's square footage. Therefore, if you live alone in a 1,000 sqft apartment, you will pay a higher water bill than a unit with 3 people that is only 700 sqft. That's fair (sarcasm).
In summary, there are plenty of other places worth a rent this high, or better places for less. Do not consider La Mirage, unless money is not an issue for you!

Yeah, I'm pissed that my water bill increased by 80% over 8 months. My square footage remained constant, so how do they really calculate the bill? I feel like they're stealing from me at $45/mo for a 2-BR place. How much bigger is your place that they want $75/mo?!
