It would have been nice to get a fire alarm or something when the evacuation order came through for the Witch fire. (07) We did not get the reverse 911 call from the city since we have internet phone. (we have since registered our cell phones)
Thank God our upstairs neighbors were slamming their doors that morning or we would not have known until the biker cops came with the PA system warninigs. (Thanks you guys on the third floor, and sorry for yelling at you. :) )
HA the stupid leaf blowing guy is going to be most devistated after this fire. He used to wake us up sometimes as early as 7am and run his blower a few hours almost every day. The guy used to blow all the garbage, cigerette butts, and dirt from the complex onto my patio and under the stair well.
You could see him chase along one or two leaves blowing them down the drive. Sometimes he would blow all the garbage from around the dumpster and it would get deposited onto my patio and table as well. Now that was the most gross. I complained about the noise and dirt but it continued.
More then once I witnessed dumpster diving... I suspect the one guy was taking identity items since he was reading some of the papers he found before stuffing them in his bag, but still the office never sent any one. One dude had a ladder.
Parking is so messed up... and when we parked our car on the street it and other cars were horribly vandalized.
In conclusion I suggest you pass this one by.

I've lived here for two years, and have never had problems with the leaf guy or people digging in the trash. As far as the complaint about not being warned about the fires, I guess this reviewer would prefer a Cold War style siren or something. Seriously, what do you expect? That fire came in so quickly, there was absolutely no way to warn everyone. If you couldn't get a reverse 911 call because of your internet phone, that's not the management's fault, is it?

this place sucked when I lived there, three floors and no elevator is that indicative of San Diego? No parking, that's a joke and I had my car vandalized twice because of street parking. I got off work late so I had to walk down the dark street in fear all the time. The place needed to burn, not the residents just the sucky La Terraza buildings!
