This place is HORRIBLE. I've had so many problems, I don't know where to begin.
1. The "security" and the supposedly safe parking garage is a joke. My car got broken into my first month living there, as well as the car of the couple that lived across from me. By the amount of things stolen and the damage done, the thieves were in my car for a while. Where was security' Management refuses to put in a camera system.
2. The elevator always breaks and smells horrible.
3. They obviously don't do good background checks... the people that lived on my floor must have been on some sort of drug(s) as they would attempt to put their keys into my door as if it was their unit. People would be noisy at all hours of the night and randomly ring my doorbell as well as others' on my floor.
4. My laundry got stolen from the dryer. Management tried to fix this problem by putting a lock on the door, but if a tenant stole my clothes, they could still take more anyway. Plus, when I picked up my key they didn't even ask what unit I lived in or checked my ID.
5. While I never had any problems with bugs or roaches, the girl that lived across the hall had her apartment sprayed twice and still had a problem... and she was a very clean person.
6. My personal information with my emergency phone numbers, bank account info, etc. was repeatedly misplaced in the main office. I was asked a couple times to rewrite my information.
7. The office staff changed once I moved out towards the end of October, but they lost my forwarding address (but claimed they never received it). Therefore, I did not receive my security deposit until much later. Furthermore, I was charged outrageous fees. I was expecting $400 back, but instead received a huge $28.
8. When I tried to call MacBeth Apartments, the corporate office in Carlsbad, no one would return my calls to help regarding the situation.
9. Parking spots in the garage are tight, and everyones car, including mine, was damaged as a result.

The apartments were redone and did look nice inside, but everything else was horrible. Whoever wrote before me in May must not have high expectations, or standards of any kind.

I agree this place sucks. I lived there for about 9 months and the 2nd day of living there my car was broken into. the people who lived next door to me always had their kids running around hallways. In my first month living there every light in the bathroom blew out. and when i called to ask for a new heating light the manager said they will send somebody and no one never showed. a little before i left they started a thing where you can buy a reserve parking spot for a extra i think 50 bucks and people would still park in your spot. I even called the towing company and they didnt do anything. I would always have people knocking on my door at 3 in the morning thinking that they at the right apt. The office staff was the worst ever. They are never in the office. They never returned your calls you had to guess when they were in the office to catch them. If i can do it all over i would have found another place to live. Solana Vista sucks!!
