Wouldn't call it luxury, but it's an OK place to live...

I've lived here for the past six months and feel quite at home. Despite the things I mention below, I'm glad I moved in and would recommend this place to people.

Floor Plans:
As someone mentioned before, the floor plans (all but the lowest model) are refreshing and not your typical box style. It at least gives you the illusion of more space, even if you don't really have it.

Pets:
This place also requires a pet rent of $25/pet - cats only, limited to 2. What the heck does that money go to' You already have to leave a pet deposit' I don't think I'll ever understand the justification for a monthly pet rent, but nonetheless, it exists. Also, we recently got a complex newsletter that stated if we were ever caught with a dog on the PREMISIS we would be evicted (they dont tell you that when you move in). Make sure your friends & family don't bring their dogs over! (Being a dog person myself, I loathe that rule. It's completely irrational.)

Price:
I feel like I pay way too much for this place, but that seems to be the case everywhere in San Diego. The added pet rent doesn't help.

Office Staff:
First, I was a little turned off by the office staff. Nice, but not very professional. I asked some easy questions about the property that they had no answers for. Not a real big deal though.

TV Services:
I realize TV service isn't a big deal to some people, but it turned out to be pretty expensive & complicated for me. When you move in, they tell you that you have to pay them for basic DirecTV service and pay DirecTV for any premium/additional services. Not only does it cost more that way, but it's not your only option! You are allowed to subscribe to Dish Network instead, HOWEVER, you must have a southern facing patio/balcony (since you are required to use your own small satellite dish if you do). If not, you can't get a signal. I definitely would have made sure to get a southern facing balcony had I known. And let's face it...satellite TV hasn't evolved as much as cable yet. If you like DVRs (digital video recorders) you have to invest in an expensive Tivo - which of course adds to the monthly TV bill. I used to pay $9.95/month for a DVR with Time Warner that recorded two channels at once, now I pay $12.95 for a Tivo that records one channel at a time (and I also had to purchase the Tivo - I rented the DVR from Time Warner).

Parking:
I rent one of the apartments that is very near the park and ride, so guest parking is not a big issue. People do have to walk a bit, but there are no towing problems. I also have a covered parking space so I never have problems with parking my own vehicle either.

Noise:
My patio/balcony faces the pool. It's a nice view but can definitely be noisy. I don't mind the noise, as it has a nice community feel to it, but I can see how it would possibly disturb others.

Maintenance:
I've never had an issue with maintenance staff coming into the apartment...that I know of. :) Would be extremely angry if I ever found out that it was happening. To that end, I've also never had any maintenance problems that required me to contact the office...so I can't speak for that experience.

Construction Quality:
The quality of construction is not very good. The under side of counters isn't finished and there are open areas to "dead spaces" in the cabinetry (like where cabinets don't quite reach the wall, or in lower corners). The floor in the bathroom sinks in spots and being on an upper floor requires a lot of soft walking, otherwise I'm sure it would drive the downstairs neighbors crazy.
