Gone Downhill in a Big Way

I have lived in Legacy for over two years now.

The apartments themselves are fairly well built and the grounds are well-kept. When I moved in to my unit, it was clean but there were some basic things overlooked or neglected. A small hole in the carpet, shoddy patches to doors where large holes had been punched through them, and yellow stains on the lineoleum in the bathroom where rugs had been.

The first year of my stay was very pleasant. Occasional noise from the pool area but nothing too bad. In the last 6 or 8 months, though, things have taken a dramatic turn for the worse. One problem is that five or six apartments have been rented to kids attending a local college who are using them as dorms. They are constantly gathering in front of the buildings late at night, laughing and talking loudly, despite many official complaints.

More recently a couple of guys have moved into a first floor apartment, and every weekend they are in town they have at least one party, often until 3 or 4 in the morning, with people drunk and shouting on their patio. Again, many official complaints, but no change in behavior. I have actually seen these guys park their motorcycles IN their apartment. Trashy. I understand that you can't discriminate, but when problems arise the management needs to be able to do something about it. When I've made complaints, it was difficult to get them to tear themselves away from myspace long enough to have a discussion.

The only reason I'm still here is that I'm house hunting. If I was planning to rent again I would've gotten out of here long ago. Some people have had good experiences, I don't disbelieve that, but my experience in the last 8 months or so has been very bad and it's very real.

My advice is to spend a little more and stay away from Legacy. It continues to go downhill, fast.

I think we share the same neighbour you were talking about. Yes, that guy with a motorcycle IN his apartment, and parties for 2 weekends non-stop until 3am!!! I actually called police and of course nobody took action. I live right above those guys and guess what, they threw knifes on the walls like dart!!! My own unit shakes at night when they threw army knifes on the wall. I agree walls are thin there. I am not sure about deposit as I still need to stuck there for another 6 months. Let's hope we all find a good place to move out.
