Not Bad, Not Wonderful

This is not a bad place to live. It's safe and clean--the perfect place for pets with lots of grass and space. The homes are large and well-planned. The option for carports is convenient, and I would strongly suggest taking advantage. No carport often equals a long, long walk.

Conversely, the management is greedy and seems to take any opportunity to charge the renters. In California, there is a law in which renters, if leasing a home for less than one year, are not entitled to the "wear and tear" exclusion when it comes to reasons for not refunding a deposit. Loma boasts the 8-month lease, which is great for college students (and there are tons of them here), but hard on the rest of us. Once the lease went month-to-month, our rent was automatically increased 10%, at which point we decided to move on principal (and of course, cost savings). We are in the process of moving out, and are fully expecting to incur several charges for expected "wear and tear," despite the fact that our home is impeccable. You will not receive any refund for extra funds on your laundry card--probably common practice, but irritating nonetheless. They also added four days to our dated letter of intent to vacate, which for them means an extra $200 in rent we did not expect. And what can we do to stop them'

In any case, the staff at the management office are friendly and helpful. We always had immediate service on repairs or issues. Our dog liked it here. The neighbors were mostly friendly and courteous. Oh, and the pools, if those are important to you, are not so great. Unclean and aged. Not a bad place to live, but expect to spend some unintended cash.

It is so TRUE that they add days to your
letters of intent to move out. How is this
legal ???? I know they added days to my letter
also. EVERY RENTER SHOULD BE TOLD OF THIS !!!!
