I disagree with the poor ratings! But cover your butt and know your rights.

I have lived at Loma Palisades for 18 months. I have found the staff to be more then helpful, very responsive to requests and always friendly. One night I got home about 7PM and the downstairs bathroom was leaking. I called the maintenace line and someone was at my apartment in 10 minutes. I have a reserved parking spot but on street parking can be a problem. The rent is reasonable for the area - in fact less then most other San Diego areas. The grounds are well kept and the preventive maintenace is ongoing. There is easy access to the 5, 8 and dowtown. I would recommend living at Loma Palisades as long as you know your rights, get everything in writing and protect yourself from false charges.
ADDENDUM: I gave my notice on May 1st that I would be moving out. My lease was till the end of June and I understood that I would be responsible for the rent thru June. I turned in the keys and the June rent on 5/31/07. I received a bill from Loma Palisades in the middle of June. It included many more charges then it should have including utiities thru June 7th and 7 hours of painting. I did get the utilities removed and the rest I let go. BUT I have some suggestions for anyone who moves in or who is going to move out. Document everything when you move in and get the rental agent to sign it. When I moved in I asked about getting the apartment repainted. I was told it was not due for routine painting yet it became my responsibility when I moved out. Take pictures when you move out after all of your furniture is out. That way you have proof of the up-charges for painting/cleaning, Utilize the California Department of Consumer Affairs web site for what are legal charges and what are not. The Tenants Legal Center @ 858-571-7100 can be very helpful. You don't have to hire an attorney-you can use arbitration.
