Lots of people here are bitching about things that they probably should have figured out when moving in.
Yes. Parking after 6pm or so is pretty awful. But it's San Diego. There are a couple of big apartment complexes in this area so it makes sense that parking on the street is going to be bad. When you go to visit the place and you're driving down a street that's packed with cars, try to put two and two together and don't be so surprised when all of a sudden it's your car parked on the side of the street. Honestly, I got out of work at 12AM sometimes and the furthest I had to walk was 10 minutes. May seem like a lot, but it's fine. I never had a problem.
You can get a garage space but because we were students, we declined.
I guess the whole thing depends on what position you are at in life. We were 4 students living 2 to a room and it was fine for us. Rent was cheap when it was split up 4 ways and we never really had too much of a problem with the place's amenities. We had new carpet and new appliances. Maintenance was quick to fix problems even when it was during the evening and as far as I had dealings with them, the ladies in the office were helpful, albeit a little forgetful. But give them a break, they deal with thousands of people complaining at silly things that aren't a big deal.
We had 3 groups of friends living in other apartments in the same complex and they seemed to have no significant problems either. Our neighbors were loud sometimes but who isn't. The planes are a little annoying at first but honestly, after living there for a year you just tune it out. The only time I found myself noticing it was when I was on the phone but that was pretty rare, you end up sleeping right through it.
The patio in the back is pretty decent, depending on which apartment you get, but most are pretty roomy. Good for bbq's or whatever. We kept our bikes in ours and never really had trouble with them getting taken or anything.
All in all, it was a fine experience for me. I'm a student, and for me it was just fine. Pretty big for the amount of money that we were spending and I never had a serious problem with the staff or maintenance.
For everyone bitching, get over it. Honestly. If you're that unsatisfied, go live in Rancho Santa Fe.

The person who wrote this review (mburbick) has to somehow be connected to the building owners or management team! There's no way that they received a full refund back on their deposit! I also cleaned my carpets and washed the walls but was charged $350 for "cleaning charges."

Perhaps all of the complaints of the previous tenants who were screwed with ridiculous charges caused management to rethink their questionable practices. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones that you have not had one of the terrible experiences as many of your former neighbors. Before you start harping on those that have already gone through hell and back living in these cesspools, you should realize you lucked out and didn't have to create a lawsuit for erroneous charges or file a claim on your insurance policy to raise your insurance rates due to your car or apartment being broken into. Consider all of that before you write a review like this. To all of us that have gone through hell and back, it makes you look like a self-righteous prick.

mburbick,
Hmmm..must be someone that works in the office looking at all the reviews about the terrible job they're doing. There is way too many complaints about these apartments. I feel bad, for someone like Amy who is obviously bi-polar and the woman who replaced her is just as bad. Good luck moving out and getting your deposit back...doesn't matter what your place looks like, immaculant, they will still find a way to take your deposit and on top of it charge you extra money. You know what I say, those women will be paid back in life 10 times more by knowing they are ripping people off. Very sad life they must have...misery must love company.
