First off, I'm not sure why people are shocked by partying or loud noise. I've lived all over San Diego, and unless you buy a house in a nice neighborhood, you are going to hear it eventually. Look around, there's a ton of kids in SD. Get a clue. I actually never had an issue with loud neighbors with the exception of an obnoxious party house that lasted all of about 2 weeks before they were evicted. I talked to management several times about them, and a lot of other people as well, and they dealt with it.

I don't do laundry here... there's tons of places nearby that do Fluff and Fold and dry cleaning. People should know better not to leave laundry unattended anyways.

You get used to the planes... along with the entire city of OB and PL. This isn't a unique condition to Loma Palisades only, it's ridiculous that people even bring that up. Try living next to a train. If you're at school or work, you don't hear them anyways.

So far no car issues, as I have my own spot. Twice I have found someone in my spot and both times I promptly had them towed, and that was that. I have one car, so I park out a bit in my spot so that nobody can pull in behind me.

I am noticing a few cheap fixes like painted over spots in the bathroom, but nothing huge. I did a thorough walkthrough with pictured and video when I moved in, and made them fix several small things when moving in. The girl giving me the tour actually told me that the cracked windows in my bedroom (top little square ones) wouldn't be fixed because they crack from vibrating from the planes. I later learned from the window guy that was bullsh*t, but I did take pics so they can't charge me. You don't even see them, the ceiling is way too tall.

All in all, I'll stay as long as possible pending something really bad happening, which I just don't see. I'm not sure where in SD people think they'll have a quiet Friday night or a crime free experience. This is in a GREAT location and I've met nothing but great neighbors. It's luck I suppose... or bad luck to have a bad experience. I've met TONS of people that have previously been here and still live here with no complaints. And personally, having a townhouse style layout and being able to afford a two bedroom on my own is great. Deposit was cheap, but I fully expect to pay $1,000 for carpets etc. when I leave. That's fairly typical and again, I can't believe that people are shocked by this. Expect to pay a month's rent in deposit, pay it upon leaving, and quit complaining. Welcome to the real world.

Look at management trying to post their own positive reports on Loma Palisades "Defenseman13" How pitiful is that, it's typical of companies having to do that when they know from their renters about this site and the negative reports about Loma Palisades. Most of the complaints are about management and how they handle issues and how they treat the renters after they get in. The management rips people off and doesn't take care of serious issues in the apartments. Floors caving in from upstairs bathrooms, leaking from the upstairs plumbing, mold from all the leaking going through the ceiling. Then the charges they stick the renter with when leaving the apartment. NO MATTER WHAT YOU WILL HAVE TO OWE LOMA PALISADES EXTRA MONEY WHEN YOU LEAVE!!! even if the apartment is in great condition. Face it, Management is destroying Loma Palisades.

Interesting exchange here. Well, I moved out 2 months ago and also had the $$ ready to go, but was pleasantly surprised that I was charged only $270 at move-out for cleaning and minor repairs. Even got $30 back! Just keep your place squared away and hope for the best. All in all alot of my problems with LP were very minor. My biggest aggravation was the trash areas - which hate to say was a filthy mess due to lazy residents and not the mgt. Thanks.

I've noticed that when people move in or out, the dumpsters overflow. But again, residents are responsible. Like you said, lazy (not breaking down boxes etc.) I also just adopted a cat, which aside from the additional deposit will cost $30 a month pet deposit, so I'm assuming this will require carpet replacement. I don't smoke though... that will guarantee that you get hosed no matter where you live. I'd be curious to know more details about some of these renters. I just talked to the maintenance people that were clearing out a neighbors place, and they were pissed. Three dudes in the place, so of course the kitchen was stained, the bathroom a mess, carpet stained, holes in the wall from not hanging stuff right, etc. etc. I think the only thing I didn't mention regarding moving in was that these places FEEL like homes as opposed to apartments. I looked at a LOT of places, and I love the townhome layout. And I can afford a 2BR on my own, as many 1BR's are as expensive if not more than these.
