Great place, then the prices skyrocketed!

I lived here for six months and everything was pretty much great. We could see the Sea World Fireworks and our only problem was a drainage issue which was fixed within 24 hours. My only complaint (besides the parking...which if you don't have a space is horrendous after 6:00) was that despite the fact we had signed a lease for x amount of dollars per month for 6 months, in our 5th month our rent went up $200. We were gone in another month, but I know someone who lives next to where we did and the price went up $400 in a matter of months!

If you signed a six month lease, then they can't raise your rent until the lease expires. I would confront them about that. I signed a year lease and haven't had any issues... but I know it's typical for prices to go up month to month if you're not on a lease. Typical anywhere, not just here.

I agree with you about the parking and am disappointed that your rent went up so disproportionately to your neighbor. Why would you recommend them then?
