NOISE!

Holy Hell! The noise here is out of control. The airport, which I thought would be a major concern is the least of my worries. If you happen to live in a unit that is next to the street...Good Luck, and I have been known to sleep through loud fire alarms. There must be five large dumpsters by the complex (some of those are used by local business). There are also five different trash services that take the contents of the trash from 6am to 8am each morning. If that doesn't wake you up- arguing bums that frequent the street right outside of the place will wake you with their wild bantering on issues in politics or which grocery store carries the best sandwiches- no joke here. If that doesn't wake you up or annoy you- you have neighbors that moved their kids and their kids kids in right next you and you hear the door slam 40 times a day and loud festive music cranking from their units. Oddly enough my roommate and I who are both law students spend little time at the place have been warned twice for noise violations. On one ocassion it was justiifed- the other was completely out of the blue. The management warns you, but does nothing to investigate the situation or listen to you- if you wanted to kick your neighbor out you could here. We are on our last strike.

The place itself is big and cheap- for usual overpriced San Diego. There are cracks on the ceilings that give you the feeling the that the sky is falling on you. We've had our garbage disposal replaced twice already- we rarely use it or abuse it. They were quick to fix it- and then refix it. The swimming pool is nice but we rarely use it- too many kids at all times of the day. Parking is okay (you may need to park well outside of the place on weekends)- I've never had my car broken into, but my car is a joke.

The area surrounding the place offers numerous food and shopping options, traffic, bums and tourists- but it is just a short drive to Mission Beach where you can find traffic, bums and tourists. It is very close to downtown and the airport, which is nice for escorting visitors around.

If you make noise and can deal with noise- and you are looking for a place that's close to downtown but have limited resources- this place may be for you.
