Firstly, this is a condo, so rental is available through individual unit owners.

There really is no condo board that screens the new tenants moving in to the building.

I have encountered college types or 20 somethings that share a unit.

Some of them over crowding in 1 unit (dorm style).

I know of 1 unit that have 6 people sharing! I don't even think that legal.

These types that don't intend to stay very long don't really respect the building all that much.

Like killing cigarettes on the carpet in the hallway, leaving trash anywhere, just a general disrespect for the place.

Like, recently somebody leaned or punched the acrylic panel in the elevator.

This building is barely 2 years old and by the looks of it,if this continues on, it's going to look ghetto in 2 years.

I just think that a lot of the people that live here never lived in a condo before, and therefore don't know how to act accordingly.

Talking loud in the elevator and hallways.

My biggest gripe about this building is the cheap 5/8" drywall partition used with the shared walls.

I am constantly awakened by the neighbor's opening and closing of drawers and cabinets.

You can also hear the neighbors tv and stereo.

The upstairs neighbors I barely hear, except when somebody is wearing heels or running around.

The elevator is always broken, at 1 point both were down.

It takes more than a week minimum to fix it.

I have always lived in a downtown area, and never really got annoyed with the Police Car siren or the Fire Truck Siren.

Somehow, they like to pass through the Island ave.

side and blare their sirens in the wee hours.

And since it's a narrow street the sound bounces off the concrete buildings and amplifies it to an irritating noise level.

My lease is almost up and I will not be renewing.

I own a unit here, unit 506. shoot me an e-mail and I'll show you a few pictures and give you the names of my past renters who: 1. Never had any noise complaints 2. Never had any problems with accessing the elevators 3. Never had a problem with bothersome neighbors or trash in the hallways. I admit, the glass (not acrylic) panel in the elevator stayed broken for far too long which was due to a change in on-site property managers. This review is bogus- this is one of the best buildings downtown, particularly in its price range.

Shoot you an email? Show some pictures? What for? I, unlike you "have" lived in the building for more than 2 years. By the way the "acrylic panel" (yes, it is acrylic), broke 2 times already. Oh, and let me just add, 2 more things that had happened after the review. Like, somebody broke the mirror in the gym bathroom, and somebody broke the DWR bench in the lobby, and even though they posted the photos of the culprits, they never found them. Bogus review? I am the resident, not the landlord. If you want to protect your investment at M2i, I suggest you face reality. The most beautiful pictures won't change the facts. Just because the truth hurts your investment, doesn't mean it's bogus. BTW, I moved to the Parklofts, 2 blocks away. Now, this is what quality is all about. Sophisticated, not a description you can use for the M2i. And, I guess you did mention it already, you get what you pay for. Only M2i is overpriced.
