I would have to agree that the sounds do travel between units. The whole building is NOT made of concrete, yes the ceilings and some exposed concrete on your walls will give you the illusion that it is all made of concrete. The wall partition between units is made of 5/8" dry wall on each side, which is the bare minimum requirement. So, opening and closing of cabinets, music,t.v. and even people talking. Some units even had a second drywall sheet istalled because of this. Have lived here since the beginning, and maintenance has not improved. For a brand new building it has encountered already a lot of repairs. Just makes me scared of what my HOA will look like in 2 years if this continues.

Condos are never/rarely built entirely out of concrete. M2i has 1 exposed sheer wall (concrete wall) at every perimeter unit. I lived here for well over a year, and continue to own and rent out my unit. Not a single complaint so far. Furthermore, I am an extremely noisy individual, 500 watt surround sound blaring techno/rave crap at 3 AM. I made it a point to ask my neighbors (above, below, and on the side without the sheer wall) if they were able to hear anything. Answer- Not at all. Finally, an extra layer of drywall was not added to the units that were having sound issues (only units that face the inner courtyard) The entire walls had been built wrong so the GC (Swinerton Builders) took them apart and rebuilt them correctly. All of the units that were having sound problems (not many) had these walls re-constructed and they should be good now.
I vote that this reviewer be docked 10 points, branded, and flown out of San Diego.
