I am currently living in Mariners Cove and my only problem is my neighbors. They are rude and loud. I can hear every time a surrounding apartment opens or closes a cabinet and I can also hear the guy upstairs use the bathroom. Its disgusting. If you can get used to the noise of the airplanes and the constant barking of dogs and noisy neighbors then you can handle living here. Having said this it is a nice place to live in San Diego if you have a dog. There is plenty of grass and trees and its close to the dog park plus Mariners Cove added there own little dog park. If location is key then Mariners Cove is close to everything. If you go into the office definitely talk to Gabby or the Manager of the property they are the nicest ladies in the office. The rest of them can be rather rude at times.
