The new manager is better in the way that she seems to actually care when you bring a problem to her attention and tries to remedy the situation. However DO NOT go in on the weekend when the Manager is off. The lady who works on the weekend is an absolute nightmare. Not sure if she is mad or just doesnt care at all. It is as if she is being paid to be rude to the people who come in. NIGHTMARE! STAY AWAY ON WEEKENDS!
The place is old, I would guess built sometime in the 60's and that was the last time they fixed anything. The water is constantly shut off due to plumbing problems. I would say expect to have your water not work at least 5-6 times a month for up to 6 hours at a time.
The Maintanence guy is very friendly and gets things done correct the first time which is rare in San Diego (I've lived all over the city in many apartments).
The only thing this complex has going is its location to the 15 freeway or Miramar, and the price. For a Studio apartment it is worth it for the price, anything else I would look elsewhere.
There are only two guest parking spots for I would guess 200 apartments here. There is little chance in finding a spot on the street unless you get home around 3-5pm, after that dont even try. But where else is there really parking in SD anyway'
This complex needs a groundskeeper of some kind there is trash everywhere, it is disgusting. There seems to always be trash in the bushes, walkways, mailbox area, parking lot, and all over the dumpster area which are always full, good luck fitting your trash bag into it.
On the positive side they just recently fixed the lighting outside in the walkways and in the parking lot. So now you can actually see your front door as you walk up to it. Also it seems that since there is a new manager, more things are being done to fix-up the landscaping and buildings here.

Note: instead of focusing on the negative points, why don't you also bring up the positives... The Outside lighting is better, The outside of building is being repaired and painted, The stray cats all gone,The new laundry equipment installed, The apts are being updated and upgraded, The Landscaping is improving, The Quality and reponse time of maintenance repairs improving, But.. in regards to the trash issues, it is picked up daily. Its the slobs who live there who cause the problems, if more people cared about where they lived it wouldn't look like that. All this work has been done in a span of less than 6 months. Plumbing issues are being addressed as they come up, with a building that has central hot water system this will come up from time to time. The residents don't pay for water, trash, sewer and gas here that is the plus side of that. This is what happens when you get a staff that actually cares about the quality of living here and isn't afraid to spend money to benefit everyone in the long run. As far as the help goes can't fix what you don't know.
