I choose to live here because this place is a 5 minute drive to Mesa College, and the rent is inexpensive compared to other places in San Diego (unless you're living in a poor section of San Diego). It's not bad here. No complaints about the apartments themselves - they're basically in good shape and fall in the realm of average (you get what you pay for). This place is also close by to the I-805 and the 163/15. It's also a 5 minute drive to a "commercialized area" with a lot of major stores (Target, Walmart, etc). Management is accomodating, polite, and prompt.
Now for the negatives - the place is right, smack next to the 163, so you basically hear traffic all the time. The parking lot is not safe - cars are known to get stolen here - one day when I got home from work, I saw the cops taking prints off of a truck that had been stripped. It also seems like they're always doing some form of maintenance on the water - they always send out some notice that the water will be shut off for maintenance at least once a month, and one one occasion it was shut off without notice for repairs. This complex is also located in Kearny Mesa, so it's not exactly an exciting part of town.
Overall I've been pleased with my stay here, and would recommend this place.
