I lived at Mira Monte for 1 1/2 years. I would not recommend renting at this place. I agree with most of the complaints/issues people have listed on this site.

-If you have 2 cars, parking is very bad. I believe a second permit is $40 per month although there is plenty of extra space in the lots.
-Kitchens have NO cabinet space. The cabinets and drawers are very poorly designed, most of the large cabinets cannot be used because of the tiny doors to them.
-There are a number of homeless people who "dumster dive" everyday.
-It's very loud --other tenants, outside activities, and being next to the freeway.
-The office staff is not friendly, except for when you first move in.
-Laundry is expensive and often crowded. 1.50 to wash and 1.00 to dry adds up quickly.
-You will lose the majority of your deposit. I recently moved out and left my apartment very, very clean. I was charged over $ 200 for an "apartment cleaning". I have lived in three other complexes in my life and always received a very fair deposit refund.
-The streets around the apartment complex are covered in shattered window glass from cars that have been broken into.
