Monarch at Scripps Ranch

STAY AWAY From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/17/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005   I came here with such high expectations. The place seemed immaculate. The girls at the front desk were very friendly and I was instantly drawn in. I wish I could have seen the underlying lies I was fed. First of all, we were told that parking would be no problem. For our second car they told me that we could buy a parking permit and park at the lot that is connected to Monarch. I was promised that parking would be no problem and that with $35 extra, I could park there. Well, no. As soon as we signed the lease they told us that they were having problems with the parking lot next door and that we couldn't park there after all. I was livid. As current residents know, finding an empty parking spot is impossible. The second thing, once you've signed the lease, the girls aren't as friendly anymore. I walked in there one time and 2 of them were sitting there talking about personal things. Not one of them acknowledged me until I opened my mouth to talk to them. Even then it seemed as if I was interrupting their "girl talk". We had a maintenance problem and it took them about 2 weeks for fix it. I absolutely am so glad that I have moved out. Now they are trying to do a condo conversion and sell those things. First of all, the walls are super thin. When I was in the bathroom, I can hear the person in the wall behind me. Insulation must be horrible. You can hear front doors bang shut at all hours. Living on the bottom floor was hell too. I wish I could have rented on the third floor. That could have maybe solved some of the noise issues. Plus there are midnight deliveries to the place across the street and you can hear beeping from the trucks backing up at midnight and later!!! If I'd only known what I was getting into, I would never have rented there. I've since moved out and I wish that I had found this site beforehand so I could have read the entries people before me submitted.
